Susie Zagorski is primarily the Intercoop Manager for AFA Catcher Vessels and PCTC at United Catcher Boats. Additionally, she is the Inshore IPA Representative, leveraging her expertise in salmon bycatch avoidance and salmon excluder design. Throughout her various positions, Susie has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to Alaska fisheries, collaborative research, and teamwork with fishermen.

Susie's dedication to Alaska's fisheries began during her academic career at Alaska Pacific University and the F.A.S.T. Lab, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and a Master of Science in Environmental Science. Her professional focus has been largely centered on bycatch reduction through gear conservation engineering. Over the years, she has managed numerous trawl gear-related research projects and worked three years as a crew member on an AFA catcher processor. Her upbringing in the Midwest, which involved fishing, farming, and hunting, combined with her extensive experience in Alaska's trawl fisheries, provides her with a solid foundation of sustainability and science-based management decisions.

Since moving to Alaska in 2008 for her education, Susie has embraced the state as her home. In her leisure time, she enjoys paddleboarding, fishing, rodeo, and most importantly spending time with friends, family, and her pup.
