​United Catcher Boats (UCB) is a trade association representing the independent catcher vessel fleet that harvests wild Alaska pollock and Pacific cod in the Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, and Gulf of Alaska as well as Pacific whiting off the West Coast. Founded in 1993, UCB has long served as a voice for responsible fishing, collaborative science, and sustainable stewardship.

Our member vessels are multigenerational fishing operations, with deep roots in these waters. Together, we work to ensure that our fisheries remain among the best-managed and most sustainable in the world.

WHAT WE DO

• Advocate for policies that support sustainable fishing, science-based management, and working waterfront communities.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies, researchers, and partners to support conservation and innovation.
• Promote the values and practices of our fleet—from safety and compliance to environmental stewardship.​
• ​Collaborative management of the catcher vessel (CV) pollock fleet through the CV Intercooperative Agreement to ensure responsible harvest practices, optimize fleet coordination, and support long-term sustainability of the Bering Sea fishery.
