United Catcher Boats is seeking applicants to apply for the position of American Fisheries Act (AFA) Catcher Vessel Inter-cooperative Manager.

Under the provisions of the American Fisheries Act, the catcher vessel fleet participating in the Bering Sea Pollock trawl fishery are allowed to organize and establish catcher vessel cooperatives to help with their rationalized harvest of the fleet's annual harvest allocation of pollock, their management of incidental catch, and management of their "sideboard" limits in other non-pollock fisheries.  The owners of the AFA Catcher Vessel fleet formed an AFA Catcher Vessel Inter-cooperative organization and Inter-cooperative Agreement shortly after Congress enacted the AFA legislation.  To oversee and manage this AFA CV Inter-cooperative organization and agreement, in 1999, the members of United Catcher Boats established the AFA Catcher Vessel Inter-cooperative Manager position.

For background information on the AFA CV Inter-cooperative organization, the following web link provides a copy of the 2021 AFA Inter-coop Report presented to the North Pacific Fishery Management in April, 2022.
See this agreement: https://www.npfmc.org/wp-content/PDFdocuments/catch_shares/CoopRpts2021/Intercooperative.pdf .

The AFA IC Manager is an employee of United Catcher Boats, a 501(c) non-profit trade association that represents the interests of the owners of the Bering Sea catcher vessel trawl fleet.  United Catcher Boats' employee compensation package includes salary, medical health insurance benefits, and a 401(k) contribution program.

Interested applicants are asked to submit: 1) a cover letter, 2) resume, and 3) three references, to United Catcher Boats at the following email address: jobsadmin@ucba.org  Alternatively, written applications can be sent to the UCB office at the following address:  4005 20th Ave. West, Suite 116, Seattle, WA. 98199.

The deadline for interested applicants to submit a cover letter, resume, and references is Friday, June 24, 2022.
